WELCOME TO FOCIM

The 1st International Workshop on System Dynamics, Big Data and Cloud Computing under the theme “Transformation for Sustainable Development” will be held on 11-13 January 2015, at Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Nairobi, Kenya.  This is a maiden event organized by the System Dynamics Africa Chapter.

This International Workshop will play a major role in advancing the field of System Dynamics (SD) in leveraging the opportunities brought about by big data analytics and cloud computing technologies to address the emerging global societal challenges. This topic is of a particular interest at this time because of the potential contributions of big data analytics and cloud services in decision making and policy development.

The purpose of this workshop is to build the chapter’s capacity in creating awareness of SD and its applications in solving pressing societal challenges across Africa and elsewhere in the world.   This workshop would be of interest to SD members, researchers and practitioners in sustainable development and PhD candidates who are interested in SD as a problem solving approach.
