FACULTY OF COMPUTING & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
This program is designed to provide a foundation to enable the students to integrate information technology into modern business management at the basic levels.
Minimum admission requirements:
​ - K.C.S.E. mean grade C (plain) with C- (minus) in Mathematics and English
- Division II in K.C.E. with credit passes in Mathematics and English
- Any other equivalent qualification approved by the University senatent.
Course duration: 18 months that is 6 semesters.
Diploma in Business Information Technology (DBIT)
This program provides students with information technology application knowledge as well as professional business management skills. It is designed to meet the demand in the market for IT skills as well as wide knowledge of business management. It provides the student with an appreciation of business environment, tools and techniques to analyze business problems and most importantly, design solutions to manage business and technology.
Minimum admission requirements:
​ - A K.C.S.E Mean grade C (plain) and Mathematics c-(minus) English c- (minus) OR
​- K.C.E Division II and Mathematics credit pass English credit pass OR
​- K.A.C.E certificate with subsidiary pass in mathematics and English OR
​- Certificate in CBIT with credit pass.
Course duration: 18 months
Diploma in e-Commerce and Mobile Computing
This diploma is designed to produce computing graduates equipped to function as e-commerce Analysts, online database programmers, Mobile Network Infrastructure Designers and Mobile Applications developers with emphasis on innovation. The student will understand practical application of electronic commerce in the mobile telephony environment as well as Internet/www technologies and their application to mobile computing.
Course duration: 15 Months
Diploma in IT Enabled Services
This diploma produces computing graduates with strong technical knowledge who wish to enter the Information Technology (IT) sector as BPO Agent, e-Government Analysts, Online Database programmers, e-Government Network Infrastructure Designers and Administrators, and e-commerce Support with a strong foundation for entrepreneurship. Strong emphasis is put on the final year when students develop e-Government Portals and BPO Platforms projects that bring together the conceptual modelling knowledge, problem solving and independent critical thinking skills needed by information technology professionals/knowledge workers.
Course duration: 15 months
Diploma In Networks Security And Computer Forensics
This programme prepares the student for a career in computer security network security or forensic investigation. The student gains skills in networks security, scripting and cryptographic protocols and how to perform forensic data analysis using the latest commercial tools (Encase and Forensic Tools Kit). Course work includes the legal frameworks and legislation related to computer crime, and how to present evidence to a court of law.
Course duration: 18 months
Certificate in Business Information Technology (CBIT)
This program is designed to provide a foundation to enable the students to integrate information technology into modern business management at the basic levels. In addition, the program prepares the students to a career in business and information technology.​​​
Minimum admission requirements:
​ - An aggregate of C-(C minus) in K.C.S.E.
- Division III in K.C.E.
- Any other equivalent qualification approved by the University senate.
​Duration:
The duration for this programme shall be six (6) months or two tri-semesters.
Certificate in Bridging Mathematics
The bridging course in Mathematics is an intensive study program that upgrades the mathematical skills of high school graduates who intend to undertake a university degree or diploma program which has mathematics as an entry requirement. The program may be taken by students who would like to pursue the KCA University Bachelors of Commerce, Bachelors of Science in Information Technology and other similar courses.
