The BSc in Gaming and Animation programme will develop students’ understanding of the principles and practices concerned with simulating active, intelligently directed virtual environments. The programme maintains a good balance between essential theory and professional practice. In the theory course units students will develop their understanding of the cognitive principles involved in user interaction with a wide range of computer games and hardware devices. In the more practical elements students will get exposed the very latest technologies in gaming and animation, and will quickly learn to combine theoretical knowledge with a range of practical techniques to generate novel virtual scenarios and experiences for users. By the time students graduate, they will be able to apply your skills in 2D and 3D digital animation to create virtual worlds of their own design.

BSc Information and Communications Technology curriculum in the Faculty of Computing and Information Management responds to our new strategic direction in providing high skilled and relevant entrepreneur professionals in Information Communication Technology sector in Kenya and the East African region market at large. The B.Sc. Information Communication Technology curriculum is designed to produce computing graduates with strong technical knowledge who wish to enter information communication technology (ICT) Sector equipped to function as database programmers, network designers and administrators, and ICT support positions with a strong foundation for continued career growth. 

The BSc (Hons) Information Security and Forensics is designed to meet the industry demand for IT security specialists with the knowledge and skills to conduct forensic analysis of modern computer systems. It provides students with a solid foundation in computer science, computer and communication systems, software development and managing security within an organisation. Course content will cover the security needs of networks, users and applications, together with computer crime, police and forensic methods, and legal requirements for collecting evidence. Students will be supported in developing personal and professional skills enabling graduates to communicate effectively and make a positive contribution in the workplace across a variety of roles and a wide range of organisations.

The B.Sc. Software Development (BSc SD) is a practically oriented degree focusing on the design and implementation of large software systems, particularly those with interactive or multimedia components. The curriculum is designed to produce computing graduates with strong technical knowledge and it is built around four themes: the design and implementation of software systems; the use and development of networked and distributed systems; user interface principles; and evaluation and testing.

 

The BSc Software Development focus on engineering solution, embedded software, and virtual environments.  This dynamic programme of study will introduce you to state-of-the-art software development issues currently being addressed by by industry. The programme maintains a good balance between essential theory and professional practice.
